Everything you say is private and confidential. There are exceptions to confidentiality rights  — for example, when disclosure is necessary to prevent serious, foreseeable, and imminent harm to the client or other identifiable person. Your therapist will go over these limitations and the consent form with you before beginning therapeutic treatment. Your consent is always voluntary.

Your therapist will discuss what you hope to accomplish during treatment. For example, one of your objectives may be to learn to manage stress better, or replace destructive behaviours with healthier ones. Therapy is an individual process and each person moves at a pace that they are comfortable with.

Individual Therapy sessions are typically 50 minutes long. In some cases, your first session with the therapist will be a little longer.

Therapy can range from short-term to longer term depending on the client’s case and their goals. This can be discussed with your therapist, and the two of you can always collaboratively assess your timeline and progression.

A broad range of healthcare providers (GPs, specialists, wellness professionals, etc) trust us with their patients. As part of the broader healthcare community, Mind-Tract supports primary care and other healthcare providers with reliable psychotherapy referrals that take into consideration the unique needs of each patient.
